Giving Back. Forever.
Barbara Bunuan spent her career in education administration in Kentucky. When she retired to Southern Indiana, she learned all she could about area not-for-profit organizations to see where the need for her volunteerism and financial support existed. She learned about the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana from an acquaintance when she mentioned that she’d like to leave a gift in her estate to benefit local not-for-profit organizations. During her meetings with Community Foundation staff, Barbara learned that just a few sentences written into her will is all it takes to make the gift. Foundation staff, meanwhile, worked with Barbara to create an endowed fund agreement that captured her charitable intent for the future and gave her peace of mind that her wishes for her fund would be carried out long into the future, even when she is no longer here to oversee it. Her one fund will support all of her causes, in her name, in perpetuity.
“I’m so pleased to have learned about the Community Foundation. They’ve made it so easy for my resources to be used the way I choose, following my lifetime.”
