Local Organizations Awarded $62,000 in Funding from Community Foundation
NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Six local nonprofit organizations were awarded more than $62,000 in funding thanks to two separate grant programs of the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana (CFSI).
The Foundation’s Capacity Building and Community Assist grant programs support nonprofit organizations serving residents in Clark and Floyd counties. The Capacity Building Grant Program focuses on improving organizations’ operating capacity, while Community Assist Grants support a program or activity that will positively impact the lives of people living in Southern Indiana.
In all, six grants totaling $62,250 were awarded to Kentuckiana nonprofits.
“Through our quarterly grant programs, we’ve seen how valuable it is for local organizations to have access to funding when they need it, knowing opportunities are available year-round,” said CFSI President and CEO Linda Speed. “This approach benefits our Foundation as well, enabling us to support both the overall mission and specific initiatives of these organizations. It also reinforces our role as a community leader, helping to enhance the quality of life for everyone in our region.”

Both the Capacity Building and Community Assist Grant Programs accept applications year-round, and nonprofit organizations can apply whenever it best suits their needs. Capacity Building grant requests are available between $5,000 and $25,000 and Community Assist grant requests are available for up to $5,000. Recipients are selected quarterly.
