JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. – The VNASEI Fund, a long-standing charitable fund administered by the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana, has awarded $50,000 to Family Health Centers of Southern Indiana. The grant will support the organization’s mission of providing essential indigent healthcare services throughout Clark, Scott, and Washington counties.
Specifically, the award will fund key areas, including the Mobile Dental Unit, vital upkeep and repairs for their health center facility, and the stabilization of ongoing health programs.
Established in 1998 by the Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Indiana, the VNASEI Fund is dedicated to advancing healthcare access across Southern Indiana. Since its inception, the fund has provided crucial support to healthcare initiatives that serve local communities, addressing the healthcare needs of the region’s most vulnerable residents.
“Access to healthcare is fundamental to a thriving community, and VNASEI Fund has been unwavering in their commitment to this cause,” said Linda Speed, President & CEO of the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana. “By supporting these important healthcare initiatives, this grant will help ensure that more people in our region – regardless of where they live or their financial situation – can receive the quality care they deserve.”
The $50,000 grant will be allocated to:
- Mobile Dental Unit: Expansion of mobile dental services, ensuring residents in underserved areas have access to preventative and urgent dental care.
- Health Center Facility Upkeep and Repairs: Maintenance of the organization’s physical facilities, allowing them to provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all patients.
- Program Stabilization: Contribution to the operational stability of the organization’s healthcare programs, ensuring consistent services are available to the communities they serve.
“We are very appreciative of the continued support of the Community Foundation,” said Lori Harris, CEO of the Family Health Centers of Southern Indiana. “We couldn’t do our job, and reach as many people as we do, without their help.”
